The Hellcare program

Prevention

HELLCARE: A program for a safer, more inclusive festival

Because partying should never mean putting yourself at risk

At Hellfest, music and celebration bring together thousands of passionate people in a spirit of freedom, sharing, and respect. That’s why we’ve set up Hellcare, a comprehensive system for risk prevention in festive environments and the fight against discrimination, harassment, gender-based and sexual violence (GBSV).

Our goal is simple: to ensure a safe, caring, and inclusive space for everyone.

What is Hellcare?

Hellcare is a set of human resources, dedicated spaces, and intervention protocols deployed throughout the festival to:

  • Raise awareness among festivalgoers about risky behavior and the importance of consent.
  • Support people who are victims or witnesses of violence, harassment, or inappropriate behavior.
  • Prevent risks related to alcohol and drug use, heat, noise, and crowds.
  • Train our teams and partners in welcoming practices, active listening, and crisis management.

Locations on the Festival Site

4 Hellcare spaces are set up on the festival grounds, easily identifiable and accessible:

  • Hellcity (next to the right-hand tent of the Extreme Market)
  • Festival Camping (at the entrance of the area and next to the first aid station)
  • Festival site (to the left of the Altar stage)
  • Village / Volunteer Camping

These spaces are staffed by trained professionals specializing in active listening, crisis management, and victim support.

You will find:

- A prevention welcome desk and awareness-raising activities.
- A psychological support and reporting unit away from the crowd (mental health and GBSV).
- Prevention kits (condoms, earplugs, sunscreen, etc.).
- Information resources and links to specialized organizations.

THE TEAM

A multidisciplinary team ready to listen: healthcare professionals, volunteers trained in harm reduction, and GBSV (Gender-Based and Sexual Violence) officers. In total, the Hellcare team is made up of 150 people, including:

- 28 prevention welcome officers
- 14 psychologists in the psychological support unit
- 16 psychologists on patrol
- 34 addiction specialists
- 4 hearing aid specialists
- 7 dermatology specialists

Sun Protection

When attending a festival, your skin is exposed to excessive sunlight and various harmful effects. We strongly recommend taking care of yourself by wearing clothing that covers your tattoos or by applying sunscreen.

To help protect and raise awareness among our festival-goers, we’ve developed a sun fluid in collaboration with the Sarmance laboratory. Forged in the lands of Clisson, this organic sun fluid with a unique design is the must-have product to shield you from the flames of hell! This year, Hellcare is offering free distribution of this sun protection.

Cargo bikes located in Hellcity and at the campsite will be handing out samples, which will also be available at the Hellcare stands. In addition, after-sun care provided by Bioderma will also be available.

To answer your questions, dermatologists from the Naos Foundation will be present at the Hellcare stands.

The Gang of Throne

After noticing longer waiting times at the women’s restrooms, a new team of volunteers is joining our ranks: The Gang of Throne.

The association Lâche la Pression is taking on this mission by promoting an alternative way for women to use the toilet.

This team, easily recognizable in pink vests, has several missions:

  • Raise awareness about gender equality
  • Host awareness sessions on portable urinals and zero-waste hygiene products
  • Educate about the reuse of urine in nature

Portable urinals and eco-friendly hygiene solutions will be available for purchase near the restrooms. All proceeds will go toward providing hygiene products for homeless women.

This year, Hellfest is proud to offer its female and male festival-goers a new, more inclusive, and environmentally respectful experience.

Zero Tolerance

Hellfest enforces a zero-tolerance policy toward all forms of violence, whether sexist, sexual, racist, homophobic, transphobic, or ableist.

If you are a victim or witness of inappropriate behavior, report it:

  • To our on-site teams (security, volunteers, prevention booths)
  • Directly at the Hellcare space
  • Via the emergency numbers listed on the Hellfest website and app
    • 07 43 15 31 92 (during the festival): from Wednesday 18/06 at 2:00 p.m. to Monday 23/06 at 9:00 a.m.
    • 02 51 88 79 50: at the Hellfest Productions reception (outside the festival period), from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
  • By email: [email protected]

Your voice will be heard, respected, and taken into account.

A Collective Commitment

Hellcare is part of an initiative built in partnership with organizations specializing in festive risk prevention and the fight against violence. Because a safer festival is everyone’s responsibility.

Thank you for doing your part to help make Hellfest a free, inclusive, and respectful event.
