The story could’ve ended in 2014 with the passing of Jonathan Athon (bass/vocals). But resilience has always been part of Black Tusk’s DNA. True to form, the Savannah trio pressed on with even more fire, delivering their signature blend of sludge metal infused with rock ’n’ roll energy and an irresistible groove their neighbors in Kylesa would no doubt appreciate. As gritty as a Corsican sausage and as punk as a whiskey-soaked misfit at 8 a.m., BLACK TUSK is back—and they’re not here to play nice.
